In conjuction with the BTS Red Carpet Book Awards Cerimony, I will be attending The Novel Experience Event 2016 in Atlanta, GA. The Novel Experience Event is a fun convention hosted by authors for readers. I've heard so many good things about this convention and am so excited to be one of the featured authors this year. TNEE is FREE with registration for all readers, or $100 for VIP Tickets. For more information, visit http://novelexperienceevent.org/

WRITING/MOVING UPDATES: My life's been a jumble these last couple months. My family and I are currently living with my aunt (bless her heart for having us) while renovations on our new home contue into the holiday season. We're slowly getting to the finish line. Drywall is going up as I type this. This little home adventure has been both a blessing and a pain for my writing schedule. While Dark Ascension will remain on hiatus until we get settled into our new house, I've been spending all my free time on two new Ema Marx projects that I can't wait to share with you. This will mean lots of new releases for 2016. Until then, thank you for your patience and support. :-) READING UPDATE: In addition to writing, I've been reading like a fiend, and I'm proud to say I have a new author crush! Her name is R.K. Ryals. After devouring The Story of Awkward, I loved it so much, I immediately researched every book she's ever written and am already two-thirds of the way through her YA/NA Urban Fantasy book, Redemption. I can already tell I'm going to fan girl all over this series. What are you reading? Let me know so I can add it to my To-Read List.

That's all for now.

What’s better than Halloween? How about all your favorite paranormal, dark fantasy, and horror authors together for one spooky meet & greet?

I’ll be among the featured authors at HallowRead Con 2015. Make sure to get your tickets before they sell out, then come hold my hand as we venture through the haunted ruins together. I can’t wait!

For my full list of tour dates, click here. I’m still adding/arranging events for 2016, so check back often to see when I’ll be in your city.

GIVEAWAY: There’s a giveaway pinned to the top of my Facebook page. The prize is all four ebooks in the Ema Marx series!

WRITING UPDATES: The first draft of Dark Ascension (An Ema Marx Novel 4) is complete and revisions will commence promptly. I apologize for the slow development, but my family and I are also moving this month, so packing has become the top priority for now. Please know that I am doing my best to get more Ema Marx in your hands as soon as possible, but that I won’t sacrifice quality for speed. :-)

READING UPDATES: I recently finished reading Trial by Fire by Margarita Gakis, a light novel about a woman with the power to set things on fire at will. She discovers she's a witch, and everyone wants a piece of her. Who can she trust? You can read the full review on GoodReads and join my new reading group, J.D.’s Bite Club.

I also just started reading a fairytale romance called Before Midnight by Jennifer Blackstream. What’s on your To-Read list? I’m always hunting for that next great adventure, so let me know.

That’s all for now.

Fangs & kisses,

J.D. Brown

The second editions of Dark Heirloom, Dark Liaison, and Dark Becoming are officially here in both paperback and ebook from Amazon.com

The second editions feature new gorgeous cover art, new BONUS chapters written in Jesu's point of view, and a new cheaper price tag.

Also, have you seen the new website? I love it, but I'm always looking for feedback so let me know your thoughts. Here are the updates you absolutely need to know for August 2015:

WRITING: Dark Ascension (An Ema Marx Novel 4) is well underway. I'm just working out the ending and fixing a few kinks. Stay tuned for ARC opportunities. They're coming, I promise!

READING: I've recently finished reading Eighth Grave After Dark by Darynda Jones. I'm a huge fan of the Grave series. If you haven't read it yet, you should! You'll laugh until milk shoots out of your nose. Then you'll cry. Like, a lot. Then you'll hug the book close and cherish it forever. The eighth installment did leave me a little... unsure of the characters' futures. If you've read the series up to this point, you know what I mean. I won't spoil it, though. Just... go read it. Now. Scoot.

EVENTS: I'm officially attending HallowRead this October -- so Maryland, bring your ghosts and I'll bring my vampyres. We'll have a paranormal dance-off! Seriously though, I'm so excited to visit Ellicott City, MD for the second time. Tons of other amazing paranormal, dark fantasy, and horror authors will be there as well. Check it out and reserve your tickets early before they sell out.

FREE EBOOK: Dark Heirloom (An Ema Marx Novel 1) is still available for free to newsletter subscribers. This offer is only good to new readers and is the perfect way to introduce the Ema Marx series to your friends risk-free. So please use the share buttons below to tell everyone you know about this limited opportunity. Thank you!

Fangs & kisses,
